Salerno, Sabino Joseph, 89 of Saddle Brook and formerly of Lyndhurst, died on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Villa Marie Claire Nursing Home in Saddle River. Born in Bayonne, NJ, Mr. Salerno received his bachelor's degree in business from Rutgers University. "Sonny" worked as a systems analyst for Pro Com NYC for 10 years and as a computer consultant in the New York City and North New Jersey areas. He also proudly served for the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and the United States Navy during World War II. He was an avid New York Giants fan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Salerno (nee Frangipane) and their cherished children, Janice Polizzi and her husband Robert, Diane Papamarkos and her husband Tony, and Mary Ann Peterson and her husband John. He is further survived by his dear grandchildren, Michael Polizzi and Emily and Joseph Papamarkos, and his sister Louise Pataranic.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ, on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army and Wounded Warriors.
